Company Profile
Jim Bland used the skills he learned while working for a large architectural firm in Waco to envision and create Jim Bland Construction early in 1974. Since that time, Jim Bland Construction has built over 300 individual homes and, with various partners, has developed 15 subdivisions in the Central Texas area.
By utilizing innovative floor plans and always being open to incorporating new ideas, Jim Bland brings a unique design and appearance to every new home. Building custom homes for individual homebuyers is the primary source of our business. At Jim Bland Construction, we encourage each home owner to participate in the building process. It has been this interactive, team approach that has enabled Jim Bland Construction to earn its reputation as a premier custom home building company.
It was this reputation for custom detail that prompted Southern Living magazine to select Jim Bland Construction as the builder of its Showcase Home for Central Texas in 1995. Proceeds for the tour of the Showcase Home were returned to the community as donations for Habitat for Humanity.
The reputation of our company has its foundation in the broad-based experience and commitment of Jim Bland himself. In the year 2000, Jim served his second term as President of the HomeBuilders Association, having served his first term in 1981. Jim Bland Construction has been a member of the Better Business Bureau from the beginning, a member of the Baylor/Waco Foundation since 1977 and the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce since 1981.
